Ways You Can Help
- Ask your local school board to make human rights and genocide education a part of the curriculum. Tell them you want to ensure students learn about human rights atrocities and what they can do to stop them. The best way to find your school board’s contact information is to google the name of your school district and “school board.” Also, there’s usually a link to the school board on the school district website.
- Contact your legislators and ask them to support a bill like House Bill 5595 this upcoming legislative session to promote genocide education in schools.
- Ask the Connecticut State Department of Education to include genocide education in the social studies standards. Their phone number is: 860-713-6543. This will ensure that more social studies teachers teach about genocide and what people can do to stop it.
- Hold a fundraiser for the TAG campaign!
